Kimpton Bem Hotel, Budapest

Marcel Wanders Studio, 2024

The Budapest cityscape, the underwater life of the Danube River, characters from Magyar myths, and the diverse wine regions of Hungary are the protagonists in the storytelling graphics created for the newly opened Kimpton Bem Hotel, located in the heart of Budapest.

Kimpton Bem, a luxurious Art Nouveau style building, has recently opened in Budapest. Under the direction of the Marcel Wanders Studio, we contributed to the hotel's artistic concept by illustrating storytelling characters, photo collage wall murals, and various surface patterns that are featured in the rooms.

In the hotel lobby, a ten-meter-wide mural depicts Budapest on both sides of the Danube and introduces visitors to the Golden Stag, a symbol in Magyar mythology that represents the origin of life.

The sommelier room is adorned with two ten-meter-long storytelling illustration collages that depict Hungary's diverse wine regions. One of the key characters featured in the hotel's graphics is the Turul bird, a prominent figure in Hungarian mythology.
